1. What classes does my student need to choose: 

    7th grade: Spanish Speakers 2, World History Sp H, Science Sp H

    8th grade: Spanish Speakers 3, US History Sp H, Science Sp H

2. Will my student be taking honors classes? 

    Yes. History in Sp and Science in Sp are HONORS

3. Can a student join as an 8th grader?  

    No. Only incoming 7th graders.

4. Does Spanish Speakers 2 take up an elective? 

    Yes. Spanish class is one of the electives.

5. Can my student take Health online to make room for another elective?

    Yes. Sign up for SS2, Health Online, and the other elective 

6. What support is offered to my student so they can stay on track?

    As a GLLA team, we monitor student progress after each grading period and meet with students for Student/Teacher       

    conferences and set a plan for success. 

7. Will my student receive all the pathway to biliteracy awards?

    Students are eligible to receive the pathway awards, but they MUST complete the requirements before the deadlines. 

8. Will my student receive the Seal of Biliteracy?

    Students earn the Seal of Biliteracy in High School.

9. What are the steps to request a transfer to Brookhurst Junior High for GLLA (Spanish Dual immersion program)? 

    Intra-District open enrollment transfers must submit an Open enrollment Form.

    Inter-District transfers must submit documentation electronically to: transfers@auhsd.us

10. How do I fill out the 7th grade Course selection Form? 

   See below for a sample 7th grade course selection form.

   Select the standard or honors classes that you would like to take for English and Math.

    For history, select SS702F World History Honors-Spanish.

    For Science, select SC702F Integrated Science 7 Honors-Spanish.

    For the Electives Class Selection, select "WL201F/S- Spanish Speakers 2 (Only for DI students) under Special programs.
