TDAP

Beginning July 1, 2012, all 7th graders need to have proof of the TDAP (Pertussis booster shot) before starting school.

For general information about Pertussis, go to http://www.cdph.ca.gov/HealthInfo/discond/Pages/Pertussis.aspx

Sickness and School

Staying healthy is essential to your student’s learning environment.  Parents can help by making sure your student eats right and gets enough rest. If your student is sick they should remain home. When a student becomes sick during the school day and is required to go home, a parent or your emergency contact will receive a call from the health office to inform them that the student is sick. If your student has a temperature, please have the student remain at home for 24 hours fever-free before returning to school.

Students cannot carry medication on campus, including “over the counter” medication. For students who require medication during the school day, a “Parent/ Guardian and Physician Request for Medication” form must be filled out and returned to the health office with the medication.

TEEN SLEEP

Adolescencts need to sleep 8.5-9.5 hours daily.

Getting enough continuous, quality sleep contributes to how students feel and perform the next school day and also has a huge impact on the overall quality of our lives.

For more information about the importance of sleep, see this page from the National Health Institute website:
